In 1991 the first School Council was elected at Tenambit. The Council consists of four elected parent representatives, three members elcted by staff, two community representatives, the President of the P&C (or nominee) and the Principal as Executive member and Treasurer.
The Council is a policy making body, it is not responsible for fundraising or for spending school funds.
Some areas the school council are responsible for are:
- Aims and Educational goals
- Discipline /Welfare needs
- Budget priorities
- Canteen policy (eg. Healthy foods)
- Building and grounds needs
- Increasing community involvement
- Liaison with Tenambit Student Representative Council.
